[TAE Marginalia] <Say to the Board of Managers that I will subscribe + help to annually maintain the gift of Mr. Colby TAE>
Orange N.J. February16. 1901
Dear Sir:
We herewith enclose a copy of a letter received from Mr. Howard A. Colby relating to a building for recreation purposes which he offers to erect and present to Llewellyn Park.
Mr. Colby, in tendering this generous gift, does no without imposing any conditions except that the building shall be suitably heated and provided with a custodian at reasonable times.
If the offer is accepted it will be necessary for those interested to become responsible for the cost of maintaining the building, as the condition of the Llewellyn Park treasury at the present time will not justify the Board in incurring any additional fixed charges. The estimated cost of maintenance is not likely to be large.
We desire an expression of opinion from you as to the advisability of accepting Mr. Colby's offer, and should be glad to hear from you at an early date.
Yours truly,
BOARD OF MANAGERS
