Title

[D8137ZAG], Letter from Thomas Logan to Thomas Alva Edison, May 12th, 1881

Editor's Notes

"the work for today is the porter engine putting the magnets on I find the shaft out of line with the magnets. I put the shaft in line with the magnets it is not in line with the engine. The engine has never been in line with the shaft that is what caused the eccentric to heat so much it was running all the time very near 1/16 on the length of the guides out of line, and I put it in line with the magnets and it is nearly 1/32 yet. The engine will have to be moved that is the only remedy. Porter's man goes to see Porter about it."
