You requested Rathenau to keep you apprised of work of German Co.; he's asked me to do this. Have just organized the co., have high hopes but limited operations. Completed several installations; has other orders. Operating at Berlin Sanitary Exhibition. [xxx see Z Gesamte Hyg. 1985 Mar;31(3):184-7. In German [The Pan-German Exhibition of Hygiene and Emergency Aid, Berlin 1883, and various communal hygiene aspects at the end of the 19th century] Completed plans for Berlin central station (really sounds like large Isolated) which will include Berlin Aquarium, Resource Club and Union Club; also looking to light important block of business buildings. Beginning to plan for 50,000 true central station, including government bldgs. Co. recently took good offices and has appointed agents thru Europe. Please send complete set of Pearl Street blueprints ASAP (Co will look to NY rather than to Paris); also copies of estimates, etc made for NY First District. Is it necessary to model central station district? Tell us about 3-wire system. Want to establish lamp factory: "send us at once the best man you have who is capable of organizing & taking charge of our factory." Also send estimate of cost for you to furnish lamp factory complete with equipment (we'll probably get carbons from Paris). How much to supply us with glass globes? What do you think of compound wound machines?
