Title
[D8369B], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Sherburne Blake Eaton, January 19th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[draft reply handwritten on D8369A] "I wrote to you in my own handwriting the method Bergmann pursued in getting at the rent. Bergmann I find perfectly frank & gave me the method. Insull now tells me you wanted the exact cost of the building. Very well I will have Bergmann give it to me. I am sure if Bergmann had set his rent on business principles we should not have got it for mere 10 pct on the cost of building because no business man would rent in this manner. He would add depreciation & more than 10 pct. Your language would indicate indigestion." Unknown marg: "*Don't* I get worry enough without *your* saying anything. [initials--Eaton?]"
