Thanks for check enclosed. # Lyon is his circular No. 1 dated Dec 1, 1887 says, sub '2nd': In order to become member of the International Chamber of Commerce it is necessary to be introduced by a Honorary Member, or to furnish first class references. # By afterwards sending a check for five hundred francs to the order of Mr..., banker, the new member obliges himself to this yearly contribution for three subsequent years. # Lyons in his circular No. 2, directed to TAE adds (in his own handwriting) on the second page, first line, the word 'President', expressing thereby his intention to make TAE one of the 'Honorary Presidents of the Founders.'
