Title
[D8814AAM], Letter from G T Evans to Thomas Alva Edison, January 13th, 1888
Editor's Notes
Your reply of yesterday to my telegram of the 12th is received. I am very sorry that you have no position to offer me at present, for from what you have said at Orange, where you are living, I was sure of one. You at that time told me to telegraph on the 10 Jan, "Are you ready." And you thought you would be at that time, and at any [--] I could have a place sure. As far back as Oct you wrote you perhaps could give me a place Nov 15, and when I [--] you about that time, and you were not ready, you told me Dec 1 you believed things would be ready, and that I could have a chance. I have these promises… a position of some kind. … I will be glad of any place where I can learn of electricity.
