Title
[D8814ABJ], Letter from W G Thompson to Thomas Alva Edison, March 16th, 1888
Editor's Notes
The writer hereof (a young man about 19 years old) is very desirous of becoming an efficient electrician, and knowing that the advice of someone of long experience would be beneficial to me. I take the liberty of writing you. # I have always had a strong desire for Electrical work. I have now decided to get a situation (if possible) where I will be directly connected with the manufacture of electrical apparatus. I have given electricity and magnetism considerable study though I have not had much practice in general work or construction. # I would like to have your candid opinion as to the prospects of one whose ambition prompts him to write you for advice. Hoping you will deem this worthy of a reply.
