received your telegram yesterday, also your letter 17th, both I submitted to TAE. Townsend was at the Lab Saturday last and went through TAE's scrap book, from which he collected considerable data. TAE regrets you have been disappointed, but Tate was so overwhelmed with work prior to departure for Canada that he had not the time to give the matter his attention. If Townsend has not sufficient data for the proposed article, when Tate returns, which will be some time this week, he will render him all the assistance possible and put him in the way of securing additional material.
