"You are hereby notified that I have a claim against you and each of you, for the proceeds of the sale by you, as my agents, to Jesse H. Lippincott, of my stock in the Edison Phonograph Company, and of the contract held by Ezra T. Gilliland with the Edison Phonograph Company, dated October 27, 1887. I claim that you and each of you should account to me and pay me the sum of Two hundred thousand dollars of the proceeds of such sale in your hands belonging to me." Signed, Thomas A. Edison
