[Mexico] "Translation. ### In virtue of the quality imposed in me by Rule 16 of Article 85 of the Constitution, I have thought fit to decree as follows:-- ### First. That, in conformity with the Article of the Law of May 7th, 1882, and in its regulation of July 12th, 1852, the privilege is exclusively given, for tens years, to Senor. Thomas Alva Edison, for the modifications which he has made of the phonograph, his invention, with the object of adapting that instrument to public use in such a way that its manipulation will be easily understood and convenient for the uses for which it is destined. The interested person will pay for patent right $150, in recognized titles of the public debt. ### In order that this shall be printed publicaly and generally made known. ### Given in the Palace of the Executive Power of the Union of Mexico 29th September, 1888, President Diaz."
