Title

[D8907AAM], Letter from American Society of Mechanical Engineers, William Halsted Wiley to Alfred Ord Tate, March 1st, 1889

Editor's Notes

I propose going to Anapolis tomorrow hence to Washington and hope to be back by Thursday next week. On my return I propose in connection with the recent meeting of the "Am Inst of Mining Engineers" and as American correspondent to the "Egnineering" of London to write an account of the meeting for their columns and desire to give a lengthy account of Mr Edison's Laboratory in my article and wish you would kindly send me at your convenience photographs of the interior & exterior of the Laboratory that are available along with complete data such as the origin of the Laboratory, Horse Power of Machines used, your methods of the Laboratory and the PhonographWorks & perhaps a sketch of Mr Edison & his connection with it. You can not give me too much data, as I want to give Mr Edison a good "send off" and will use all of it.##If such photographs as you would like to send are not available I have a Brother-in-law who lives in Orange, who is at present disengaged & who is an amateur photographer and has a machine would tke such photographs as you may desire at a much cheaper rate than you would otherwise pay to a regular photographer. Kindly advise me at once your conclusion in this matter.
