Title

[D8920AAL], Letter from William Hope Dean to Alfred Ord Tate, April 22nd, 1889

Editor's Notes

You will be glad to hear that the Toronto Co is getting into shape. We bought our real estate and I expect active [work?] will begin within a month. I'm going to [W Brandford?] tomorrow morning to submit our scheme for working the water power there and have great hopes of putting that Co. through. Had a conference with Barr at Port Hope last week and have made him an offer regarding the doll. He gives me interest in some other matters and on the whole I think things are [looking?] up. If I succeed in some banking arrangement to which I hope to make tomorrow, I will send you a check in part payment of my money indebtedness to you. I saw [Dr.?] some time ago, he says nothing is being done about the bonds.[Newspaper article enclosed - handwritten title and date - "Port Hope Pride" 12/3/89 discusses neogtiations by Dean regarding lighting Port Hope with Edison system]
