Title
[D8964ADP], Letter from R M Field to Alfred Ord Tate, December 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
Dear Mr Tate, You are correct in your impression as to the percentage of English stock [----] coming to our company, i.e. it was 25%, according to which Mr. Stevens and Mr. Biggs informed one of their interviews with Mr [Leamans?], and according to my own conversations, as I recollect them with the last named gentleman. This particular aside, I Like Mr[ Leaman's?[ letter very much indeed for its clearnes, conciseness and thoroughness, and, as you will doubtless be able to settle [stock?] satisfactorily, for I know Mr [Leamans?] to be a very fair as well as a very able man. I can see nothing now in the way to a materially advantageous deal.##I shall go to New York Thursday, & meet Mr. Stevens and shall take with me an attested copy of the Crawford contract, also, copies of all foreign patents, and that which is promised me tomorrow. Mr Jacques' assignment of foreign"rights" present, past or prospective.##Mr Stevens telegraphs me from the St. Charles Hotel, New Orleans, that he will be at the Murray Hilll Hotel Thursday afternoon.##With respectful remembrances to Mr Edison, sincerely yours, R. M. Field.
