Your kind favor of yesterdya was duly rec'd. I am afraid that you have heretofore taken what has appeared in the newspapers as correct as to what I have said or done. I saw that the article referred to by you in hte Sun was mixed and as I am probably as well acquainted regarding the unreliability of newspaper accounts as almost any other man of course I did not suppose the report of your lecture was correct in any particular.
