[LB007368], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Sherburne Blake Eaton, May 31st, 1882

Editor's Notes

Your memo of 29th inst. As to Jehls pamphlet arrange this matter as you think best.##You say Puskas & Bailey want 5% of the shares [requested] by us. Where are the shares [sent] not know they had been received.##Your remarks as to Lawrence Engines reminds me [that] Insull paid for two 8 x 10's when I was South. He received one of them & as a favor let Moore have the second one (to go to same place when an Engine was badly needed by Isolated Co) upon the promise that we sh[are]d The next one turned out Moore broke this [ ] & took the next Engine & a number of others. It seems hopeless for Insull to go to him as he seems to do nothing but promise only with the object of not keeping it. [He] is very annoyed & to say the least not business like of [ ] success [ ] will you see if you cannot make Moore keep his promises in this matter & also see if you can get me another 8 x 10 you [one] have which I [send] [ ] for as soon as ready. It seems no use to write [-] & [-] about [ ] 8 x 10's as they seem to do just as [ ] & so far he has told [ ] just the opposite to what he has promised Insull.##As to Defect [Work] Report [week ] ending 27th May##Pens for Brush rollers This has geen [attended] to [Panoboard] of Dynamo. This was [attended] to long ago 7 Vails knows he can get improved pan boards [aquiring] them at Gasuck St. This same [complaint?] has been recorded a number of times. Is this necessary when Vail knows just how to fix it & that the manufacturers have attended to their part of it.##Thumb Screws. The above [answers] apply to this also
