Mr Edison has requested me to take up the question of his Australian Telephone Agreement.##[In his] [--ingly] yesterday cabled on Mr [well] the agent of the Western Elec Mfg Co in this City who went out to Australia & from him copy of memorandum agreement between his Company & Mr Edison of which I enclose you copy He has promised to copy Mr Edison with [exact] data as to what has been done in Australia & Mr Edison will [sign] it you as soon as he gets it.##Mr Edison had hoped to be able to give an absolute assignment of his rights & patents to [Oriental] Company but this will [--] [----] what he will do will be to give an assignment of his rights to the Co under his agreement with Western Electric & this will be in exact [illegible]
