I beg to confirm cables as follows##From you May 16. Send Antwerp Three samples all new fixtures two hundred lamps hundred sandles.##From you May 25. Wallerstein authorized pay for five thousand. Heraclite##To Heraclite May 28. Name amount can spend samples fixtures these each cost sixteen hundred dollars. Have no hundred candle lamps How about further advances large dynamo.##I think Upton giving orders of a discretionary nature you should state what amount I can spend as I do not care to take upon myself the responsibility of ordering things for you when you give me no idea as to what expense I can go to.##I have been paid by Mr Wallerstein $5000 on account of the large Dynamos ordered by you but he says he has no instructions as to further payment. I therefore thought it advisable to cable you as to the matter. [Their] Dynamos are being pushed forward as rapidly as possible & will be finished in about six weeks or two months I cannot however undertake large work of this character unless arrangements are made for advances to me on a/c. The American & English Companies make such advances to me for large Dynamos built for them.
