Title
[LB019372], Letter from Samuel Insull to Edward Dean Adams, November 11th, 1884
Editor's Notes
I have your letter of this date relating to the use of Mr Edisons name, by Colonel Gouraud, as a Director of the Oriental Telephone Co.##Upwards of a year ago Mr Edison requested Mr Gouraud to withdraw his name from the Boards of all English Companies for the Directorates of which Mr Gouraud had nominated him. Mr Edison's reason for this was that he did not wish to have his name used as the Director of Companies, with the management of which he had not the slightest connection.##Mr Gouraud is therefore entirely without any authority for the use of Mr Edisons name in the connection spoken of.##As to Mr Hubbard I cannot speak as I have had no communication with him on the subject.
