“Referring to your favor of the 29th. December, I would state that your cable, “Maxim brings before court American decision Edison Sawyer. Send full details”, was not exactly understood by me at the time of its receipts, and I therefore awaited advices by letter from you. I would say in reply that the case is a test in the Patent Office which is not yet finally decided. It covers, however, nothing at all essential, as you will see from papers which I have requested Mr. R. N. Dyer to send you.”
