We beg to confirm cable sent you this morning as follows: "Can accept no modification of Canada's publications made later than asserted, Assertions Maxim's counsel untrue. Details Tuesday's mail." ##The above has reference to the modifications proposed by you in your duplicate letter addressed to Mr. Edison and ourselves on the 8th. Inst. We are in communication with our patent attorneys in Canada and have already received from the Canadian Patent Office information to the effect that the publication you speak of did not occur on the 17th of November but at a date subsequent thereto. We hope to have all the documentation by next Tuesday's mail, and in th emeantime would urge that you should not accept the assertions of Mr. Maxim's counsel as facts inasmuch as we are in a position to show that no publication whatever took place on the date that Mr. Maxim claims.
