Title
[LB020313E], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Arthur Wellington Adams, May 28th, 1885
Editor's Notes
##I have had a conference with Messrs Edison and Field and some little talk with two or three members of our Board, but no formal Board meeting. I am of the opinion that an arrangement may be made with you for the city of St. Louis upon the basis of your giving to the Electric Railway Company of the United States a per centage of the stock of any company you may form in St. Louis for electric railway work. You thus cover the rights of the Electric Railway Company of the United States inclusive of the right to use any of their patents. As to what this per-centage should be I have only a suggestion from our people. They think 25 per cent would be about right. If the basis of arrangement is satisfactory to you I shall be glad to hear from you further.
