"Mr. Edison has read your letter of 6th instant, and says in reply that, [Bismuth?] can never come into great use at one [unclear] quotations, for the reason that it can be bought in Europe, in 1,000 lb. lets, at $1.25. If the price could be reduced to fifty cents, Mr. Edison thinks that it would permit [unclear] to be used quite extensively in the arts." Yours truly, A.O. Tate
