Title
[LB031484], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to John Cornell Schenck, August 2nd, 1889
Editor's Notes
[CENTRAL STATIONS] "Mr. Edison has received your letter of 23d ultimo, and in reply desires me to say that the Edison Electric Light Company has several electric lighting stations in New York City. The Pearl St. Station, down town, has been in operation for the past seven years, paying regular dividends &c., and the Edison Brooklyn Station is very much superior. Mr. Edison believes that no better or safer investment can be found in the country than that to which you refer in your letter. The Edison Electric Illuminating Co. of Brooklyn is managed by solid men and not by speculators. If you will apply to the Edison Gen'l Electric Co. [Unclear] Wall St. New York, they will doubtless furnish you with full information and grant you every facility for inspecting the working of the Edison system of electric lighting." Yours truly, A.O. Tate
