Title

[LB034414], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Philip Sidney Dyer, December 4th, 1889

Editor's Notes

With reference to Mr. Edison's agreement with Lelande, you will remember that exception is made of the use of the Lalande battery for secondary purposes, and also for electric lighting. Mr. Edison would like to obtain the right to use this battery for electric lighting purposes, to be used for lighting not more than 25 lamps, on the same basis of royalty as we pay at present. Couldn't you arrange this matter with Lalande. He ought to be willing to give Mr. Edison this right, as it will extend the use of the battery, and increase the amount of Lalande's royalties. Of course its use in this way would be limited, but we will attempt to work up a business if Lalande will give us the power to go ahead. Kindly put this through as quickly as possible, and cable the result of your endeavors. Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
