My dear Mr. Edison,-
Mr. Batchelor has spoken to me about his Phonograph Works stock---that is about the interest which he has in the stock which you received for manufacturing rights. This stock is divided as follows:- Total issue 1560 shares, of which 38%, or 592 8/10 shares, are in trust, and 967 2/10 shares are free. Mr. Batchelor's interest, 10%, of each of these stocks, would be as follows: Trust Stock 59 28/100 shares; Commo Stock 96 72/100 shares.
In regard to Trust stock, we shall have to treat it as we are treating the stock of the Edison Phono. Toy Mfg. Co., that is give Mr. Batchelor a paper which will entitle him to the dividends on 10% of the Trust stock. Shall I arrange the transfer to Mr. Batchelor of ten percent of the common stock above referred to? Of course, this transfer could not be made until you come home.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Thomas A. Edison Esq.,
