Dear Mr. Edison:-
I am going away this afternoon for the rest of the week, and will send you that data and information on the Ogden plant upon my return the first of next week, as I have not had time today to go over the correspondence and get the matter in shape.
I wish it distinctly understood, however, that the only thing, I wish to do here is to clear ourselves of the entire blame in the matter which it appears is being put on us. I do not wish to have any rumpus at all with anybody about it. The thing is past and gone, and I believe that we have sufficient record elsewhere the unfortunate circumstances which were connected with the whole matter. We were never able to secure a definite understanding as to our position on the work up to the time it was taken away from us, and the mistake we made in ever having anything to do with it in the condition in which it was. We were anxious to get a start on our own work and took that without being able to get a good understanding, as I should have had in order to carry it successfully through.
Very truly yours,
(Signed) C.J. Field
