Dear Sir:-
I enclose herewith two summonses, one addressed to Thomas A. Edison, the other to Edison Phonograph Works, as defendants in suits brought in the Third Circuit Court of the United States District, New Jersey, by the Edison Phonograph Toy Manufacturing Company, for actions upon contract wherein plaintiff claims fifty thousand dollars and one hundred and fifty thousand dollars, respectively, from defendants. These summonses are dated respectively 18th and 19th February, 1891, and were handed to a servant in Mr. Edison’s house yesterday morning, 23rd instant, and by this servant given to Mr. Edison.
