Dear Sir:-
Your telegram of yesterday in regard to Mr. Edison’s yesterday was not answered until this morning owing to my absence from the Laboratory. I beg to confirm my telegram in reply, which was as follows:
“Mr. Edison called unexpectedly to New York this morning. He will not be here this afternoon.
A.O.Tate”
Your second telegram, asking if it will be convenient for Mr. Edison to testify on Monday afternoon, has just been handed to me. I am unable to reply to it owing to Mr. Edison’s absence, but will do so immediately he returns from New York, either this afternoon or early to-morrow (Saturday).
Yours very truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
