March 3, 1891.
Samuel Insull, Esq.,
Edison Building, Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to the attached, Mr. Edison has requested me to write a letter to Rau, denying the statement of Mr. Ullmann’s advocate that Mr. Edison had given to Mr. Ratheneau, Manager of the German Company, a list of the lamps alleged to have been imported into France from America by the Cie. Continentale Edison since 1882. I have thought that you would like to read the letter before any reply is sent, or perhaps might prefer to dictate the answer yourself, as I believe you were in communication with Mr. Ratheneau when he was here.
Yours very truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
Private Secretary.
