Dear Sir:-
I have your letter of 19th instant, enclosing two documents found by you in a trunk of old papers left in your custody when the Machine works moved from Dey Street, one of which appears to be a Sheriff's Deed to Charles Batchelor of certain lands in Menlo Park, and the other a proposed Deed to myself by Mr. Batchelor and wife of the same property, the first of which seems to have been recorded, and the last of which has not been executed.
I return these papers to you herewith, and would request that you have Mr. Batchelor and wife deed back these lands to me. We had some trouble with the Menlo Park property, and the lands in question were transferred to Mr. Batchelor.
I am very much obliged to you for having directed my attention to the matter.
Yours very truly,
Thos A. Edison
