Please note Mr. Edison’s remarks on the attached correspondence, re German patent No. 44,591 addressed to Mr. Insull. Do you wish me to write to this effect to Mr. Insull? I directed Mr. Edison’s attention to that part of your letter of 17th ult. addressed to Major Eaton, where you speak of forwarding the drawings and at the same time explaining to Mr. Edison that he is in error in supposing that he is being taxed for foreign patents, and he said that he would like very much to have you do so. He has a strong conviction that he is being taxed.
