Dec. 11, 1891.
Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building,
Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has read your letter of 7th instant, in regard to the 42 assignments to the Edison United Phonograph Co. of Colonial patents executed by him at the Laboratory last week. He notes that the documents which he executed reserve to him the right to use the patents referred to in connection with dolls etc., and that it will therefore be unnecessary to take back a license from the E. U. P. Co. When he spoke to Mr. Meadowcroft he was not aware that the documents contained the reservation mentioned in the foregoing.
Yours truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
