Dear Sir:-
Referring to your letter of 6th ultimo, I beg to inform you that the sample of iron sand mentioned therein was duly received and examined by Mr. Edison, who found that it contained 39.30% metallic iron, and after concentration 1.40% titanium. The ore possesses no great value owing to the exceeding high percentage of titanium which it contains.
I am sending a communication similar to this one to Mr. A. H. Cook, of your city.
Thanking you for your kindness in having the sample sent to Mr. Edison.
I am, yours truly,
A. O. Tate
