J. Block Esq

Friend Block:-
Your favor of the 19th of May was handed me this morning on my return from Ogden N.J. and in reply I beg to state that we are having a law suit to see if we cannot get the Phonograph out of the hands of the Speculators who now have it. I have a new model which runs for ½ an hour for music and one hour for talking. that records and reproduces music with as near absolute perfection as can be, and it is with this instrument that I think the Phonograph will be introduced, if ever I can get the rights in my possession
Yours truly
Thos A. Edison
