Dear Sir:-
In reply to your favor of the 6th inst I beg to state that the difference is that the record of the motion is [pure?], no intermitting as in the old Zeotrope [Zoetrope] as well as Muybridge and Anscheutz [Anschütz]. The whole difficulty was in getting a [pure?] motion without which the illusion is destroyed
