March 4th, 1895.
James A. Roberts, Esq.,
State Comptroller,
Albany, N. Y.,
Dear sir:-
I have received the blank reports mailed me several days ago, and have read same over carefully. The Edison Phonograph Company is a New Jersey Corporation, and has not been doing any [illegible struck text] active business for upwards of four years past. Under these circumstances I presume that it will not be necessary for us to fill up the blanks which you send me. The company has no office in New York state, and has not had one for some years past.
Yours very truly,
Thos A. Edison
