Title

[LM111378], Letter from Arthur Edwin Kennelly to William Joseph Hammer, April 10th, 1889

Editor's Notes

W. J Hammer Esq####Paris####Dear Sir####With reference to the notice appearing in this weeks Electrical World to the effect that meters for the Paris Exhibition must be sent in by the 25th p---, Mr Edison desires me to say that though his meter cannot be entered for competition on the terms offered (zincs?) the right to manufacture it cannot be conceded, still for the sake of scientific interest and also for credit in the electrical world it would be well if the Council of Paris would permit a test of it to be made at the same time, outside competition, and on this understanding.####He desires me to enquire whether you think such an arrangement with the Council could be made and suggests that if so a telegram from you would enable us to hasten the preparation of one, or two special meters that could be made for the purpose in time for you to send them in. Yours truly A.E. Kennelly
