Title
[MBN012283], Technical Note, Charles Batchelor, September 21st, 1885
Editor's Notes
"Phenomenon to be explained Chas Wirt of Chicago says:-- 'the switch being opened at A in a few armatures B suddenly reversed the reversal being shown by the light running high--" speed of both same & unchanged'" rest of note describes test and results and concludes: "It is evident that on some machines the volts may run considerably higher in proportion than the 160 amp did and in that case a very heavy current would be taken at first on closing switch not only from the load itself but from running the other as a motor."
