p. 1 "Present by T A Edison Apr 3rd 1886 Ft Myers" sticker not in TAE hand; following pages (17 last page) in book all undated; numbers 2 and 3 not used (p. 4 on other side of 1); p. 5 "sketches and calcs and text "Earth goes 14.6 times as fast as the sun"; p. 7 "5 wires abt 1/8 dia. 50 miles long 2 feet apart, 24 feet from earth, dead ground each end except relays-- 3/8 surface about 3 feet for inch or 36 ft sqr foot, hence 5 [miles?] 7 feet to square foot, 750 square feet to mile, 37500 sqr feet 50 miles. 500 sqr feet to car 3 cars 1500 square feet. Distance to wires 40 feet. Cars 195 feet long use say 228 feet wire; 7 feet to foot, is 32 sqr feet opposed to 1500 [Roof?]"; pp. 8-9 calcs; p. 11 "wires 25 times the surface. Volts of 1 ohm coil say 500 volts 600 ohm coil has 28 turns the qauntity of volts 600 times less quantity Use an air condenser for receiving from the wire. The Quad signals too tailed to go through air condr owing to its rapid charge & discharge"; p. 13 "Expmnts to be tried-- Cord on freight train-- Receiver right in ckt, 5 separate spools on phone-- also Induction coil, 5 ohm primary & 50 ohm Secondary all in one coild (drawing) see p 11"; p. 15-17 rough sketches
