"The Herald" reports that TAE puts the phonograph patent in the hands of Tomlinson and Gilliland. After much negotiation, the two were able to find a buyer for the patent, Mr. Lippincott, who offered $500,000. TAE inquired if they could get more and if the two made any arrangements on their own behalf. TAE later found out that Lippincott had actually offered $750,000 and that TAE and Gilliland had pocketed the balance. The Electric Light Co. later dismissed Tomlinson.
