TAE has been swindled of $250,000 by a trusted employee, Tomlinson. Tomlinson was placed in charge of selling thep honograph patent since TAE didn't have time to tend to business matters. The article then describes the transaction regarding sale of the phonograph, the investigation that followed TAE's discovery that Tomlinson had allegedly taken money, and Tomlinson's dismissal.
