Editor's Notes

13-6883.. Yours of 17th rcd….I expect to come to NYC about 5th of May; I think Mother will come north but am not certain "as you know its very hard for her to make up her mind to be away from [home?] so long." "Dr. Vincent will be with us on Sunday and will preaching morning and evening….." ## "I have been look[ing] anxiously for the Doll baby and Phonograph what has become of them. ## I sent Mr. Edison some samples of some new material which is to take the place of hard rubber for many purposes. I can be made very cheaply as compared with rubber. ## We are just commencing to turn out the Banner Binder…..## We are running the new lamp in the shop. They see to do very nicely. We have some of the new pattern. They certainly seem very nice. [Illeg] two or three of the drop lamps after the pattern of which I find Mr Edison [-- drawing?] They are very nice indeed. The man whop put it up had made one that could be put in the center of a chandelier and [illeg words]. It will take the place of a center ornament like this [sketch].
