This notebook covers the periods June-August 1882 and May 1885. The entries in the first part of the book are by Edison and John Ott. Included are notes and tables relating to tests of a current regulator, tests of the conductivity of various elements in glass tubes, and tests of meters. There are also notes on filament experiments and calculations by Edison regarding costs of power plants. The entries in the second part of the book are by Edison and a laboratory assistant with the initials \"M. W.\"" There are notes by Edison on experiments to find a new form of energy, along with notes and tables of storage battery tests. The label on the front cover is marked \""Cable.\"" The book contains 280 numbered pages.
