Description: This notebook covers the period March 1888-March 1889. There is also one entry for October 1889. All entries are by Edison. At the beginning of the book are notes regarding the production of aluminum by electrolysis. Most of the book contains drawings and draft patent caveats for the phonograph and for squirted lamp filaments. There are also calculations for an ore milling operation. The book contains 238 numbered pages and has been used in both directions. Several pages were removed from the front of the book before it was paginated.
