This notebook was used by Ludwig F. (Louis) Ott during October 1913-July 1914 for notes on various chemical experiments. Most of the experiments relate to batteries. Included are notes on the recovery of nickel flake and black oxide from old battery tubes, preparation of iron oxide for the batteries, and fireproof paint for the Edison Chemical Works at Silver Lake, New Jersey. There are also experiments pertaining to Blue Amberol cylinder records and to other phonograph-related items, including waxes and varnishes. Some of the notes are partially in German. The last page is an index to the experiments. The index appears first. The front cover is labeled \"Notebook.\"" The book contains 124 numbered pages, some of which are blank, followed by approximately 10 unnumbered pages."
