The Unbound Notes and Drawings are miscellaneous loose pieces of paper containing technical notes and drawings made between 1879 and 1886. Most of the documents are by Edison. There is also material by Charles Batchelor, John F. Ott, and other laboratory assistants. The documents relate primarily to electric lighting. Several additional documents (images 172-191) were discovered after the microfilm edition of Thomas A. Edison Papers, Part II (1879-1886) was published and were filmed in the Supplement Series of Thomas A. Edison Papers, Part III (1887-1898)."
