Title
[CG001AAI3], Report from Edison Ore Milling Co Ltd, Sherburne Blake Eaton, January 16th, 1883
Editor's Notes
TAE diverted from gold and silver ore expts at Menlo but has made other inventions pertaining to separating magnetic iron and free particles of gold (patents applied for). Got many inquiries about our iron ore separator but haven't sold any yet. Not much business to report except at RI works. After last report, had contract for 200 tons monthly with Poughkeepsie Iron & Steel but just before shipment they stopped it on account of financial problems & damaged furnace. Sent some of this to Rockaway works but they didn't like it. Tried it OK and ordered more but again objected. Won't do business with them. With no customers for ore, have closed RI works. Now consider separator thoroughly & practically tested. Difficulty is not with the ore. Financial figures follow. Expect some separators to be sold this year.
