- Editor's Notes
- [if we want to get ore milling in the volume, here's the chance] Annual report. Expected to have several separators in operation, but owners of deposit decided to forego expense in absence of good process for smelting such fine ore. Financial resources are low; owe TAE $1650. After closure of RI works, Conley experimented with means to reduce the ore to a marketable product. Thinks he's succeeded, and in spring will resume expts with furnace. If successful, there'll be large demand. "Edison's experiments with gold and silver ores have been limited, owing principally to want of funds.....He has conducted a great deal of experimenting at his own expense, paying for it himself" but likely won't continue without some funds.
