[TAE Marginalia] <Would I say anything of 9, draft it.> The University of Glasgow, Scotland 25th April, 1901 To, T.A. Edison, Esq., Llewellyn Park, New Jersey, U.S.A. Sir, I have the honor to enclose a Provisional Preliminary Programme for this Congress which will indicate to you its scope and the arrangements which have already been made. The meetings will be held here on the 3rd., 4th and 5th of September of this year. It will be seen from the Programme that the Congress will be supported by the principal Engineering Societies in Great Britain, and each is in charge of that Section of the Congress which deals with the particular Branch of the Subject in which it is interested. Delegates from Foreign Governments and Societies and other distinguished Foreign Engineers have been nominated as Honorary Members of the Congress. I have been directed to inform you that you have been nominated as an Honorary Member, and to express the hope that you will be able to attend and take part in the Meetings. If it is your intention to be present at the Congress I shall be glad to forward to you when it is ready a more complete programme and a list of Hotels on their terms, I am, Yours faithfully, J.D.
