New York, May 18th, 1901 Mr. Thomas A. Edison, West Orange, N.J. Dear Sir: Mr. Richard Colgate informs me that you have renewed, for the current year, your annual pledge of $100,000 to the Young Men's Christian Association of the Oranges. We are endeavoring to accumulate some funds before the vacation season fairly opens, which will help us in getting through the summer without borrowing. If quite convenient, we will greatly appreciate a check for the amount of your subscription, to reach us between this date and the first of June, if practicable. Thanking you for the practical interest you have shown for many years in our work, I remain, Sincerely, Geo F. Seely Treasurer
